Qilei Li is an Associate Professor at Faculty of Artificial Intelligence in Education, Central China Normal University, Wuhan, China. He received Ph.D. in Computer Science from Queen Mary University of London in 2024, supervised by Prof. Shaogang (Sean) Gong FREng. From 2024 to 2025, he was a Postdoctoral Research Assistants at SAYED Systems Group, working with Dr. Ahmed Sayed. He previously earned an M.S. degree from Sichuan University in 2020. His current research interests lie in multimodal large language models (LLMs) for education, with a particular emphasis on learning domain-invariant knowledge representation with privacy-aware distributed machine learning from multimodal data captured in diverse environments and developing AI systems tailored for educational applications. His research has been recognized as an ESI Highly Cited Paper. In addition, he serves as an evaluator for the ELLIS PhD Program and is an Associate Editor for the Expert Systems (SCI-indexed).
